"I would like to enter to win a free one hour newborn session for my
sweet, will be newborn in August 2013. I want to win because I think it
is very important to document such life changing events! In life, the
world moves too fast, we age too quickly, and it would be nice to get
this very precious, short time on film! I want to have pictures to send
to family members (especially the elderly ones) who may not be able to
travel to see the newborn phase in person! Pictures are how we relive
memories and I would love a talented photographer to capture that for
me! As cliche as it may be, it is very true that 'a picture is worth a
thousand words!' "

"I want to win a free photo session because I love having memories of my
family that will not be forgotten! I have tons of pictures of my
children but not many of us as a family. So it would be a family session
with myself , Wendy, my husband, David, and my three beautiful
children, Joel, Daisy-Marie, and Hunter. "

"If I was to win I would like to do a family shoot since my family has changed recently. I only have 1 photo that is my daughter and I & she was only 3 or 4 months old in it. MaKenna is now 3 yrs old 4 in july & I would love to have some photos of us 2 together. MaKenna is my world and I have photos of her all over my house but they are not professional shots and you can tell. But I do what I can with my limited funds that I have as a single mom. Traveling to you would not be an inconvenience I would love to. I hope I touched a part of your heart and you want to choose us for your giveaway. "

"Ruff-ruff bow-wow! That’s dog-speak for “Hello everyone!” I’m Tucker Murphy Stone & I am the 4 year-old furry-child of Zach& Kim Stone. I currently reside in Heflin, Alabama but was raised part-time at my grandparent’s farm in Wedowee, AL & part-time with my mommy at Auburn University. War Eagle! My daddy is an avid Bama fan. Roll Tide! As you can see, I cheer for whomever as long as I get my favorite doggy treats! I am full of personality! I love to play Frisbee & fetch, terrorize my furry-brother Aubie Cat, chase cows, swim, kayak with mom & dad, play with any toy that squeaks, travel, & most of all, I love to GO— I’ll go ANYWHERE that Mom & Dad will take me! Also, if you haven’t noticed, I’m extremely photogenic! That’s why I want to win a pet session with my friend, Amanda, at Beau Monde Photos. Thank you for your consideration!"

"I'm entering to win a boudoir session. I'd like to say its only for my husband. To see that sensual side of me.
I'm always trying to show him BUT to be honest it's more for me. I'd like to feel comfortable in my own skin. Feel sexy and beautiful for me. I'm fine with knowing I'm not a size 2 and won't ever be. It's not my body type. But I'd like to show others and myself that anyone any size can look amazing in whatever they wear. We are all amazing no matter the body shape or type. I just need more practice in seeing that in myself. :)"

"We’re Zach & Kim Stone from Heflin, Alabama. We’ve been married for 2 years & are now patiently awaiting the birth of our first child, a son, who will be named Jackson Norris Stone. Nothing would delight us more than to have a memorable photo session during this most exciting time in our lives. One we could look at for generations with our family, and we can recall the trying and fun times we had welcoming our first child into this world. Help us remember the amazing blessing that God has given us."

"Marley should win because I love her"
-Marley's Mama
"I need lots of photos me and my doggies and my kids. I want them to
remember the good times. I almost lost it in 2005 because of my health.
I want to leave them with lots of good memories of Nana"
-Sharon
"I believe I should win because I've had such a great year with being chosen to represent my school at a leadership conference, being captain of Handley Middle's JV cheerleading squad, and also having the honor of being the Lake Wedowee cover model. I would be very honored and grateful to have your talent to document my year with photographic memories."

Does the idea of a free photo session interest you? Yeah?
Well....I am prepared to give one away!
But this contest will actually require more than a comment to enter. I want to build a bigger fan base, and I need your help! I’m hoping that with this contest, you can help me out! Here are the guidelines:
This contest is open to anyone in a 40 miles radius of Wedowee, Alabama OR a within a 40 mile radius of Stafford, Virginia. Those outside of that range can enter but must travel to me for your session.
Weddings and Birth Sessions are excluded from this contest. Newborn and Boudoir sessions are included, however the winning session will only last for one hour.
1. Shoot me an email (amanda@beaumondephotos.com) with the name of the person/people entering, photograph (does not need to be professional quality), what type of session it will be (family, engagement, maternity, just-for-fun, etc), and why you want to win. Your explanation will be posted on FB page and here on the blog for others to "get to know you". I will accept entries until May 8th. As I receive emails I will post them on my blog so you can go ahead and share them with friends and family to get them ready to vote. When voting begins on May 10th I will post them in an album on my Facebook Fan Page.
2. Spend the week after I start the contest encouraging all your family and friends to “like” my Facebook page. To earn a vote for your photo your must have people like and comment on your photo her on the blog (That's right...you can get 2 votes per person!) At the end of the contest (May 15th), the entry with the most ‘likes’ will win a FREE session! (Voters MUST ‘like’ my Facebook page for their vote to count!)

The problem with most photos taken during the holidays or other special celebrations is that they don’t capture the special feeling of the season or event. Here is a photo checklist, along with five tips to help you photograph your holiday season.
Don't be afraid to get up close. Almost every digital camera has a Magnify or Macro button that lets you get close and create a much more interesting photo.
There's nothing wrong with pictures that are posed, but you can create variety by taking candid shots of family and at social gatherings. Capture people while they’re engaged in conversation or as they’re opening a gift. Keep your camera batteries charged up and your camera nearby so you can catch spontaneous moments.
Try to tell a story. Don’t just photograph the opening of the gifts. Photograph the process of selecting the gifts, wrapping them, and the mess that is left over after they are opened. This process is called photojournalism and has been growing in popularity in photography over the years.
If you are shooting indoors during the day, make your portraits with your subjects standing near a window or door instead of relying on the flash. The flash can cause red eye and give your subject a harsh appearance.
